Whether you are a member of our "Ancient & Honourable Society" or a traveller of "Cyberspace" or even a possible "Candidate" to our Craft. – We hope you will find the site Informative and Interesting.

Our proud wee Lodge is situated in the Southwest of Scotland, a busy port of call for Monarchs themselves, - King Robert "The Bruce" once dispatched the Wisdom of Solomon on the seat of our local Justice court in 1328.

We can say with pride that Girvan St.Johns 237 has been represented in nearly every corner of the World and we will continue to convey "Honour and Brotherly Love" under the Banner of "Freemasonry".

Lodge Meetings are held on the First and third Wednesday from October to May (excluding the 3rd weds in January) in the Masonic Temple, Lagganwhilly,Girvan at 7:30pm prompt

Charity Degree

On Saturday 28th May 2011, a special meeting of Lodge Girvan St Johns No 237 was held in the masonic temple, Lagganwhilly, Girvan. Lodge Prestwick 1060 conferred a Mark Master Mason degree on that day to the delight of the members present. Also in attendance was a deputation of 6 members of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ayrshire headed by Provincial Grand Senior Warden Bro Duncan Fenwick, and Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master (RWPGM) of Ayrshire Bro Archie Chalmers was also in attendance.The purpose of the meeting was to raise funds for Lodge Girvan St Johns annual charity. The sum raised was £331.48 and will be donated to the lodges chosen charity in the coming weeks

 
On Wednesday 29 th of July, the Right worshipful Master Bro Kevin A Gibson PM attended with some of the brethren of Girvan St Johns No 237 to present a cheque to the Davidson Ward of the new Girvan Community Hospital. The money was raised at the special meeting on Saturday 28 th May 2011 when Lodge Prestwick 1060 attend and conferred the degree. The money was topped up by the Lodge Girvan St Johns No 237 to £400. The cheque was received by Staff Nurse Isabel Harris on behalf of the Davidson Ward. The money will be used for to purchase audio books for patients with visual impairment.

Friends of  Hillcrest (May 2010)

 

A special meeting was once again held  on Saturday 8th May in the Masonic Temple, Girvan where Lodge St Thomas (Kil) Dalmellington No 433 conferred the masonic business for the evening. The evening raised a sum of £400 for the Friends of Hillcrest, Montgomery Street, Girvan. Thanks go to all the brethren who came on that evening and for the donations raised. The cheque was presented to Mr Denis Reid - chairperson  and Stewart Johnson - treasurer of the friends of Hillcrest committee.

RWM and IPM join the RNLI for the day 

RNLI Girvan Coxswain Robert McMaster took new recruits to Ailsa Craig to test their skills!

RNLI Girvan very kindly show RWM and IPM how the Mersey Class Lifeboat "Silvia Burrell" and crew save lives on the waves.

WSW Dyes it Purple for Prostrate Cancer (Dec 09)

WSW Bro Billy Agnew has raised over £400.00 to date for "The Prostrate Cancer Charity" from the generous donations of workmates and the Bretheren of Girvan St John's 237 and visitors.

Freemasons Dig Deep for RNLI

A special meeting was arranged for Saturday 9th May 2009 at Lodge Girvan St. Johns’ No.237, the evening was attended by Masons from far and wide, Thanks go to  Lodge St Bryde, Uddingston No.579 who conferred the Masonic business that evening and a special mention to Robert McMaster, who as Coxswain of Girvan Lifeboat gave an excellent presentation on the duties and history of the RNLI .The evenings fundraising collected the sum of £400 which was presented by Bro. Robert Laird, Right Worshipful Master of Girvan to the RNLI Girvan Crew members in attendance. The Brethren of Girvan would like to thank all who attended and congratulate the RNLI on their heroic efforts to date and wish them safe waters for the future.
